Story: Alpha

article by š•ƒš•Ŗš••š•šš•’ š•„š•–š•š• š•Ø

The fog is thickening in the Siberian forest where the cold reigns. In an eerie silence, only the running of wolves can be heard. A wolf cub is being chased by wolves from his pack from which he is now rejected.

There is nothing but snow and fir trees as far as the eye can see.

I can only flee, Onyx said to himself, running as fast as he could despite his small legs.

Without turning around, he rushes straight ahead without realizing that he is entering the territory of another pack. This is not a good omen because as a wolf from a rival pack, young and inexperienced, he is vulnerable.

The wolves chasing him retreat, not wishing to confront this rival pack.

Onyx, exhausted, collapses in the powdery snow to wake up next to an alpha wolf. After making him understand that he was finally welcome in the family, she encouraged him to regain his strength. Without being asked twice, he snuggled up against his new mother's silver fur and fell back asleep.

I suddenly woke up, no longer feeling the softness of my mother's fur or the cold of the snow, but the gentle warmth of spring. The whole pack was around me and greeted me respectfully. As I went to quench my thirst, I realized with surprise that I was an adult wolf and no longer a poor, fearful wolf cub. This filled me with joy but it didn't reassure me either because I was faced with a decisive choice: am I strong enough to want to take the lead of the pack or should I remain submissive to an alpha born in the pack?

Led by this reflection, I didn't realize that my steps were taking me to a field of blue begonias stretching as far as the eye could see. My path split into two, one that seemed to be covered with very fine and soft sand while the other seemed to invite me to turn back with its brambles. Despite everything, I can't help but be drawn to this path covered in brambles. The sandy path is much more welcoming but it doesn't seem very exciting.

Once again immersed in my thoughts, I suddenly feel dizzy from the scent of the begonias and collapse.

When he wakes up, Onyx is a wolf cub again but this time he is determined not to give in and to do everything to become the new alpha when the time comes. Like the cold of winter that surrounds him, he will be tenacious and this time it is he who will chase away the wolves of his former pack.

Onyx stands up, shaking the snow from his fur, while his eyes shine with a new determination. He now understands that his destiny is in his paws and that to become the alpha he aspires to be, he must face the challenges that stand in his way.

With a determined growl, he sets off toward the bramble-covered path, knowing that the alpha's path is not easy. Thorns lacerate his legs, but he grits his teeth and keeps moving, ignoring the pain to focus on his goal.

As he advances, Onyx feels a strength growing within him, a strength that comes from his determination and his burning desire to become the leader of his own pack. The brambles become thinner, the obstacles fewer, as he refuses to be stopped.

Finally, after hours of fierce struggle, Onyx emerges from the bramble forest, his breath short but his heart swollen with hope. He gazes at the landscape before him, filled with a newfound confidence in himself and his future.

For even if the path to the top is fraught with pitfalls, Onyx knows that he is ready to face any challenge to become the leader his pack needs. With every step he takes, he gets closer to his dream, determined to conquer his destiny and become the wolf he is meant to be.
